Zarco tested rear wheel in Qatar MotoGP round factory Hondas unable to use
In light of the restructuring at the executive level initiated by HRC last year, work on the 2024 version of the RC213 has intensified, with an increase in new test parts and involvement from key riders like Bradl, Zarco, and Nakagami. Bradl tested a Marchesini rear wheel at Jerez, which stands out as different from HRC’s usual supplier, OZ, affecting Mir and Marini’s ability to use it in MotoGP at the moment. Zarco tried the wheel at Qatar, experienced vibrations, and switched back due to discomfort. OZ is working on a similar solution for Honda, with ongoing discussions on how to make it accessible for all riders. Marini, meanwhile, used the concessions system to test at Jerez post-race to adapt to the Honda better after a disappointing first race. In the previous race, Marini struggled, finishing well behind the leaders in a challenging premier class debut.
